Murray A. Freedman, MS, MD, received his medical training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Freedman is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he is currently a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia and he maintains a very active private practice in Augusta.

Dr. Freedman is past president of the Georgia State OB-GYN Society and a past president of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1991 through 2001 and is currently on its Advisory Board for Subspecialty in Psychosexual Medicine. He is also Emeritus Director of the Southern Clinical Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Freedman received his MS and MD from the Medical College of Georgia and does clinical research in women's health, primarily in the areas of sexuality and hormone therapy (both contraception and menopause). He has published two books Steroid Biochemistry and Its Clinical Application (with his wife, Dr. Sandra Freedman, co-author) and Society to Labor and Delivery: Stat. Dr. Freedman has published over 20 articles in national and international medical journals and authored 3 chapters in medical textbooks.

Dr. Freedman lectures to medical and lay audiences nationally and internationally on a frequent basis. His presentations about hormones and sexuality are informative, entertaining, and inspirational.
